How we use AI

Our AI has access to proprietary and metadata across our HR Software, and job board — meaning more specific prompts for the AI, customized outputs and relevant insights for recruiters and hiring managers.
Workable offers a suite of AI-powered tools for streamlined recruitment processes:
AI Recruiter for Instant Sourcing: Recommends passive candidates based on job descriptions, drawing from a database of 400 million profiles. Recommendations are based on the similarity of a candidate profile with a job description. This similarity is essentially a semantic matching between the text that is present under candidate’s profile and job description, removing any content that could drive AI to biased decisions such as gender, age, nationality, etc. AI Recruiter learns from user decisions to refine suggestions and integrates seamlessly with candidate lists. AI Recruiter does not replace any discretionary decision-making by an employer and human oversight is still involved in the decision-making process.
AI resume screening: Assesses the matching degree of a candidate’s resume with a job description. Essentially AI performs a similarity check between a candidate profile and the requirements of a job, as they are extracted from the job description. The similarity calculation focuses on areas such as skills, education and experience and ignores factors such as age, nationality, gender, etc., mitigating any factors of bias. The similarity is also explained to the user, by listing all the extracted requirements and highlighting the ones that are a match based on the candidate’s profile. Our AI does not perform any automation; it instead helps our users sift through the numerous application resumes in a quicker manner, expediting the first shortlisting. Employers using Workable’s AI tools have the final word on reviewing the applications to their job postings and make the relevant employment decisions.
Job Description Generator: Utilizes AI to quickly generate job descriptions, either from scratch or based on the account's past data. Job Editor is also enhanced with AI inline editing facilitating changes and content optimization.
Interview Question Generation: Quickly generates industry and role-specific interview questions based on job title and industry, enhancing productivity according to user feedback.
Email Assistance: Generates personalized emails for candidate outreach, emphasizing alignment with job descriptions.
Resume Data Extraction: Instantly extracts key details from resumes to fill application forms and profiles accurately, with over 160 million candidates processed. It also anonymizes data to help mitigate bias in screening.
Salary Estimator: Provides salary information for roles using benchmarking data, powered by AI and drawing from millions of job listings from Workable data. Tailored for small to medium-sized businesses, it helps ensure informed, data-driven hiring decisions and fair compensation.
